A speech assessments check of how clearly your child produces sounds and how smoothly they speak. It may be helpful if your child is hard to understand or shows signs of stuttering.
A language assessment sees how your child understands and uses language for their age. It may be helpful if your child has trouble following directions, answering questions, or expressing their ideas clearly.
An literacy assessment look at reading skills and writing skills from early skills like book handleing to later developing skills like essay writing. This may be helpful if your child struggles with rhyming, identifying letters, reading, spelling or writing cohesive texts.
As part of the language assessment, we can also look at your child’s social skills, such as how they play, share, take turns, and communicate with peers. This can be helpful if you have concerns about making friends, joining play, or interacting comfortably with others.
Feeding therapy supports children who struggle with chewing, swallowing, food variety, or mealtime comfort. Once you share your concerns, an SLP will reach out to help decide if a feeding evaluation is the right next step.
